Our Partnerships
Although we prioritize people and the planet, we know that we can always do better and we strive to do so every day. We are humbled and excited by the opportunity Pleasing has to develop our own initiatives and work with people and organizations close to us to celebrate the kindness, creativity and optimism in our community. Our dream for Pleasing is to help facilitate a better future with and for one another.
As with all our launches comes an opportunity to Do Better. With Fancy Friends, we are proud to support GlamourGals – an organization dedicated to fostering intergenerational connections and enriching the lives of older individuals. GlamourGals brings together high school and college student volunteers who visit senior homes and assisted living facilities to provide beauty makeovers and offer companionship. Their mission is to empower beautiful connections across generations.
Over the month of September, GlamourGals chapters throughout the country will be hosting dedicated Fancy Friends makeovers, bringing joyful conversations to the senior population through the organization’s teen ambassadors.
Our Spring 2023 micro-collection, Pollinators, supports Project Roots, a 501(C)3 nonprofit based in South Phoenix, AZ, which educates their community about growing food while supporting the homeless and those with food insecurities. Founded by Bridget Pettis, Dionne Washington, and Jessica Diamond, Project Roots is realized by providing education and access to a community garden, farmer's markets, food banks, and a mobile soup kitchen. Founded in late 2019, it aims to provide and promote a healthier, natural, and more sustainable way of living.
To coincide with our fourth micro-collection, Super Magic Family Time, we’re proud to support Covenant House, a lifeline for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. With safe spaces in 34 cities across six countries, Covenant House builds a bridge to hope for young people facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking through unconditional love, absolute respect, and relentless support. Its sites have their doors open 24/7 and offer programs to empower young people to rise and overcome adversity, with a wide array of resources, from housing and food to education and workforce development, as well as counseling, and other trauma-informed services. At Pleasing, we’ve been so inspired by their relentless effort and support, and are humbled to contribute to helping Covenant House help young people.
For Hot Holiday, the third micro-collection from Pleasing, we’re supporting Queercircle and are excited to join in its mission and make a real impact together. The UK-based LGBTQ+ led charity works at the intersection of arts, culture and social action to develop programmes with leading artists, curators and writers that befit the needs and aspirations of its community. Queercircle carries out its work through a creative-driven mission that is aligned with Pleasing’s through a shared priority of championing emerging talent.
For the second Pleasing micro-collection Shroom Bloom we’ve chosen to work alongside Cool Earth. We love this global charity’s "climate optimism” that radiates throughout their community and beyond. Cool Earth is dedicated to backing people who protect rainforest, and fighting the climate crisis at the root with projects that create choice, stop deforestation and cool our Earth.
For the first-ever drop of Pleasing, Perfect Pearl we partnered with Nest. It’s a non-profit 501(c)(3) supporting the responsible growth and creative engagement of the artisan and maker economy to build a world of greater gender equity and economic inclusion. Through programs that support the wellbeing of artisans both in the United States and globally, Nest is bringing radical transparency and opportunity to the informal hand-worker economy.
